Ride the Drive could not have taken place on a more gorgeous day. It was a great family event, and it was lovely to see the bikers out in droves. The kids got their faces painted for the second time this weekend; that is their only prerequisite for declaring a day a resounding success. They also loved seeing all the unicyclists and other unique bikes (and bikers) on display.
I made my first trek to the Farmer’s Market this morning. After much resistance on the children’s part, they finally gave in and admitted it was a great day to go to the market (they don’t like the bike-riding portion of the day so much). Cows on the Concourse was in full swing, and both girls got to pet cows and get their faces painted. We topped the outing off with a quick stop at the Old Fashioned for cheese curds and beer (and kiddie cocktails).

Food Network is at The Old Fashioned. Turns out our walleye sandwich is a big deal?
I’m proud to be the smallest person on TV drinking whiskey at bar.
Suck it network TV.
The Muffin Man bikes around Madison, WI with muffins in exchange for commitments (living without money for three days, giving hugs or high fives to people who seem unhappy, and eight more!). It’s a cute little film and so inspiring so check it out!

Madison (1962-Present)
Madison is the capital of Wisconsin, which became a state on 29 May 1848. Its flag features what’s described as an “Indian Sun symbol”, much like the ones found on the flags of New Mexico and Wichita. The flag also represents the geography of the city, with the blue triangles representing Lake Mendota and Lake Monona and the white bend representing the isthmus that lies between them.
We made a trek to the Memorial Union for Memorial Day. The weather was lovely, and the beer was flowing; summer can officially start now.
My afternoon commute.
A peek at Lake Monona from Olin-Turville Park; Lake Monona and the city skyline from Olin Park; RP’s Pasta; the whimsical statues on Atwood.
